Hämorrhoiden behandlung  is a German term referring to hemorrhoid treatment. If one experiences bleeding when passing stool, or pain in the anus then there is need for treatment to be sought. Diagnosis may be conducted by visual observation of the anus and this way it can be established if someone has external hemorrhoids. Visual diagnosis of internal hemorrhoids is conducted through anoscopy where a small hard tube is inserted in the anus and then the doctor shines a light in the area affected.

A rectal exam may also be conducted where the patient must be sedated as it is a relatively painful procedure. The doctor inserts a lubricated finger in the rectum to feel if there are any lumps and swellings. A colonoscopy may also be conducted whereby a doctor looks for any signs of bleeding in the large intestines.

A thorough exam needs to be conducted for someone to be correctly diagnosed with hemorrhoids as there are a host of other diseases that exhibit similar symptoms even upon examination for example, colorectal cancer.
